What to do first
Give one. The wall is only worth reading if people write on it.
The wall
The feed of recognition across the workspace, with a tab for the ones you were given. Alongside it: a prompt to give recognition, suggestions from Rople about who is worth recognising, and a leaderboard of the most generous.
The suggestions are drawn from what actually happened: a goal or key result completed, a review outcome, a learning achievement, strong 360 feedback. Rople points at the event and you decide whether it deserves saying out loud.
Giving recognition
Pick the person, pick a badge, and say why.
Badges are your workspace's own, grouped, and most of them map to a competency. Recognising somebody with a badge tied to a competency records that competency, which is what makes recognition usable as evidence later.
The reason is the part that matters. A badge without a sentence is a reaction; a badge with a sentence is a record of what somebody did.
You can attach the work it was for: an objective, a key result, a review outcome, a learning achievement or a piece of 360 feedback.
My recognitions
What you have been given, and what you have given. Useful when writing a self assessment, because it is a list of specific things with dates on them.
Analytics
Who is being recognised and who is doing the recognising, across the workspace and by department. A team with no recognition in a quarter is worth a manager's attention, and so is one person receiving all of it.
How it connects
- Recognition received lands in your Inbox, in the feed rather than the inbox tab, because it is news rather than a task.
- It is evidence in Reviews.
- Badges and competencies come from Talent and Admin.
- Participation appears in Manager Cockpit and People Analytics.
Common questions
Is recognition anonymous? No. It is public credit, and credit without a name attached is worth less to both people.
Can I give recognition to my manager? Yes. Recognition is not directional.
Who sets the badges? The workspace, in Admin. A badge list that reads like the company is a badge list people use.
Does recognition affect someone's rating? Not automatically. It is evidence a reviewer can read, not a number that moves a score.
