What to do first
Read the sentence at the top, then look at the four figures beneath it, then scan "Needs you". That is the whole page, and it takes under a minute. If a row in "Needs you" is yours to act on, press it and Rople opens the record it is about.
The reading
One sentence about the company, stamped with the time it was worked out.
The sentence is written from your figures, not chosen from a list, and which part of the business it leads with depends on what your seat is answerable for. An operations director gets a sentence about delivery. A finance lead gets a sentence about money that has not arrived. An executive gets revenue first. It is the same workspace and the same morning in every case, read from the position each of them has to answer for.
Two rules hold the sentence together. It says nothing about a part of the business the workspace has no records for, and it measures nothing against a target nobody set. A workspace that has not started trading is not a workspace having a bad quarter, and Home will not describe it as one.
The figures
Four numbers, each with a sub line saying what it means and coloured only when the number has earned a colour.
Which four you see depends on your seat, and a figure that has nothing behind it declines its slot rather than reporting zero. "Projects on schedule: 0 of 0" reads like a company doing badly when it is a company that has not started, so Rople lets the next figure on your list take the space instead.
The figures are drawn from contracted revenue, cash collected, money still receivable, overdue balances, committed spend, budget used, open pipeline, live leads and project schedules. Each one is computed from the records in the module that owns it.
Needs you
The top of your work queue, with a coloured dot for the kind of work each row is: follow-ups, approvals, delivery, collections, relationships, tasks and anything sitting still in a workflow.
This is the same queue My Work shows in full. Home shows the head of it so you can see whether anything is urgent without leaving the page. Pressing a row opens the record. Pressing through to My Work gives you the filters.
What moved
What changed elsewhere in the workspace since you last looked, in the modules you have access to. It is the answer to "did anything happen while I was out" for somebody who does not want to open six modules to find out.
Targets
What the figures above are measured against, with the title naming whose targets they are. If nobody has set a target, this section says so rather than inventing a denominator.
Your first invite
A new workspace shows one extra card on Home: a prompt to create the team invite link. It disappears once the link exists. The same control lives permanently in Admin, so dismissing it costs nothing.
Where Home sends you
Home is a starting point and almost every part of it is a link:
- A row in Needs you opens the record in the module that raised it.
- A figure links to the module that would change it.
- What moved links to the thing that moved.
Common questions
Why does my Home look different from my colleague's? Because the reading, the figures and the queue are all written for the seat reading them. Two people in the same company see the same records described in terms of what each of them is answerable for.
Why is a figure missing? Because there is nothing behind it yet. Rople declines to print a number rather than printing a zero that reads like bad news.
How current is it? The stamp under the sentence says when it was worked out. Home draws the last answer immediately and corrects it a moment later, so the page is there when you arrive rather than arriving after you.
