Feedback

Feedback given, feedback requested, and the one to one check ins that carry it. Everything here is recorded, which is what lets a review read from a quarter's worth of evidence rather than from memory.

What to do first

Give one piece of feedback to somebody you work with. It takes a minute, and it is the thing that makes every other screen in this module worth opening.

The feed

Your feedback in one place: what you received, what you gave, what is pending, and what has happened this quarter. Filter chips narrow it, and pending requests are banner level because somebody is waiting on you.

Giving feedback

Pick the person, choose the tone, write it, and decide who sees it.

Tone is positive or constructive. It changes how the feedback is presented, not whether it is recorded.

Visibility is one of three:

  • Private. Only the person it is about.
  • Team. Their team.
  • Company. Everyone.

Rople offers a structure while you write: the situation, the behaviour, and the impact. It is a prompt rather than a requirement, and it exists because "great work last week" is not something anybody can act on.

You can link feedback to the work it is about, so the objective or project it refers to is attached rather than described.

Requesting feedback

Ask one person or several. Say what you want feedback on, and the request lands in their inbox and in their My Work under Feedback.

A request stays visible to them until they answer it, which is why the pending count on your feed is worth watching.

Check ins

A one to one, prepared, held and recorded.

Templates are the shapes a check in can take. Your workspace can keep its own.

The pre session form is what both people fill in beforehand, so the meeting starts from what each of them already thinks rather than from silence.

The session is the conversation itself, with the agenda, the notes and the action items that come out of it. Action items become work rather than a line in a document.

History holds the upcoming and past check ins, with what was said and what was agreed.

How it connects

  • Requests appear in My Work under Feedback and in your Inbox.
  • Feedback given and received is evidence in Reviews.
  • Check in cadence and feedback volume appear in Manager Cockpit and People Analytics.
  • Feedback can point at an objective in Goals and KPIs or a project.

Common questions

Can the person see who gave it? Yes. Feedback in Rople is attributed. Anonymous input has its own place, in the 360 part of Reviews.

Can I edit feedback after sending it? No. Recorded feedback is evidence, and evidence that can be rewritten afterwards is not evidence. Give another piece if something changed.

Who can see private feedback? The person it is about. Performance data, including feedback, is also readable by the people your workspace has entitled to read it, which is managers and above.

What happens to a check in's action items? They become tasks, so they appear in My Work rather than staying in a note nobody reopens.
